Each bakugan balls comes with a metallic card that has point value. The point value has also been imprinted on the bakugan balls. There's a metalic lock in the bakugan balls that is trigger to open when it is placed on a metallic card. So how to you play the game? I'll try to explain how it plays briefly, if you buy the starter pack, there's a manual in there that will guide you through step by step. Each player starts out with 3 bakugan balls and 3 metallic game cards. Depending how many player are there, determines where the cards are placed. When you roll the bakugan balls and land on a card, it opens. If the bakugan balls doesn't open, the player lose a turn.

The bakugan game is quite creative and complex to play. But it's not hard, any kids over 6 years old can play and enjoy the game. Overall, it's a very addictive and interesting card game.
